Call for Winterstart Volunteers

Posted by mgee - September 12, 2011 - Calgary Alpine - No Comments

The Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup and NorAm Races are a little more than two months away and we need your help.

Volunteers are the backbone of ski racing in Canada and the Canada’s World Cup events are no different. Hosted annually since 1994, the Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup is accepting volunteers for this season’s races in late November and early December.

The Winterstart events are important pieces in the Canadian race calendar. The World Cup allows our best athletes to compete on a home course against the best in the world while the proceeding NorAm provides a tremendous opportunity for up and coming athletes from across Canada to train and race on one of the world’s finest prepared speed venues.

Further to providing our young athletes an excellent venue to hone their skills, Winterstart is a first-rate training ground for Course Crew workers. The experience of working with people from around the globe can prove invaluable in running events at your home club.

I ask that you please share the attached invitation with your club members; we would love to have you join us at Lake Louise this winter.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Craig Smith
