Kinder 2 (K2/U16)
This is a program for our 13-15 year old athletes (as of December 31) and is a continuation of the kinder ski racing experience from FAST. The program begins full time in the beginning of August with a summer ski camp followed by regular dryland training.
Once the snow flies, until May, our regular training is two evenings at COP with weekends and the occasional weekday spent training at Nakiska or away at races. Extra days of skiing generally get added onto race weekends and additional dryland and ski camps are offered.
K2/U16 athletes will compete in a variety of different race disciplines. Slalom, GS, Super G and Super Combined. The recommended ski pass is a Nakiska pass and COP pass.

K2 athletes have the opportunity to qualify for a number of extra ski camps and races. Alberta Alpine organise High Performance Camps for the best K2′s in the province. This gives K2′s from different clubs a chance to ski against each other and get an idea of where they stand compared to other athletes their age. The top K2′s are selected to represent Alberta at the K2 National Championships, where the best in the country compete against each other. Based on performances at the Nationals, athletes are selected for Whistler Cup, an international children’s race event where some of the best kinder athletes from around the world come to compete.
