Coaches

Todd Haywood

The club is very excited to have Todd Haywood as our junior team coach. Todd’s ski experience includes racing at World Cups, Olympics and multiple World Championships for his home nation of New Zealand. He also brings a wealth of coaching experience to the team and is excited to continue the tradition of excellence that our junior program has always provided.

Mike White

Calgary Alpine is pleased to announce the addition of Mike White to the Junior Program. Mike comes over from the FAST side where he spent over 13 years as a coach and athlete. His coaching experience ranges from Nancy Greene up to FIS. Mike has already been busy this season coaching the K2 and Junior teams at Mt. Hood in August and through a rigorous dryland program.

Dustin McLeay

‘Dusty’ is one of the club’s most popular coaches. He has combined his Alberta Ski Team experiences with his coaching experience and his love for the sport to help guide our youngsters through the world of ski racing. Dusty has been an athlete and coach with Calgary Alpine for over a decade and has provided the building blocks to many of our aspiring champions.

James Kucera

James has been a lifelong member of Calgary Alpine. The club is very lucky to have a coach with so much passion for the sport. He started with the club by representing us as an athlete in many races across western Canada and now has taken the leadership role as our Head K1 coach for the past few seasons.

Walter Stutz

FAST was fortunate to engage Walter in 2010 to lead the K1 program. Previously Walter was Program DIrector at COP, and Nancy Greene Program Director for Lake Louise ski club. Walter will be joining James and Lauren to staff our K1 group for the 2011/12 season.

Lauren Peters

One of our younger coaches, Lauren has displayed a great love for the sport and a desire to learn the art of professional coaching. She has recently attained her Development Level Coaching certificate and will be a great asset to not only our K1 athletes, but the entire club.

Steff O’Brien

Steff will be taking over the SnoFlyers program after managing the FAST High Performance program for a number of years. The combined group will benefit from Steff’s experience and organizational skills while maintaining the club standards for FUN and sportsmanship.
