CARC will be run a FIS Program for the 2008/09 Season.
The objective of CARC FIS program is to help develop strong individuals that have the mental and physical ability to excel at Alpine racing and are committed to developing these skills in a positive well structured team environment. CARC is committed to promoting those athletes that are so inclined, to extend training oppportunities combining skiing and education in Alberta, in order to advance athletes to Alberta Provincial ski teams and beyond.
Our FIS program will be focused on athletes excelling on the slopes, in the classroom and at the work place through attitude, behaviour, effort and preparation. We race the Nor-am Cup and National championship events for those who qualify. Our athletes will be on snow 100+ days per year and we offer year round conditioning programs.
CARC promotes Canadian Sport for Life Long term Athlete Development at all levels. FIS program athletes will be developed in accordance with Alpine Canada Apin's Training to Compete philosophy. The development of sport specific technical, physical and tactical skills will be enhanced with integrated mental, cognitive and emotional development.

CARC has hired Sean Cameron (CSIA IV, CSCF III) to develop our Junior program for the 2008-09 season. Sean will be worked with our K-2 athletes last year and has stayed with them through the summer doing dryland. Presently, we have 8 athletes preparing for the 2008/09 season and in order to assure a quality programs for our athletes, we have capped our Junior program at 12 athletes.

8 Alumni since 2001 have moved on to Alberta Team Programs/ 1 World Cup Athlete
Alumni John Kucera is currently ranked 23 overall in the world, 3rd in Super G and 15th in GS.
John spent his entire development career with Calgary Alpine (NG, K1, K2, FIS).
John had a great year this year (2006/07), he started the season by winning the winterstart Super G and Lake Louise which was closely followed by a 3rd place in Val Gardena.
Brady Leman had an impressive season this winter, winning the overall Pontiac series. He has earned himself a place in the Canadian Mens Development team.
