Continuing to Excel on the Slopes

This program is for 16+ year old athletes with the objective to help develop strong individuals that have the mental and physical ability to excel at Alpine racing and are committed to developing these skills in a positive well structured team environment. CARC is committed to promoting those athletes that are so inclined, to extend training opportunities combining skiing and education in Alberta, in order to advance athletes to Alberta Provincial ski teams and beyond. Our FIS program will be focused on athletes excelling on the slopes, in the classroom and at the work place through attitude, behaviour, effort and preparation.

The athletes will compete in all the regional FIS races and at the Nor-am Cup and National Championships, for those athletes that qualify. Our athletes will be on snow 120+ days per year and we offer year round conditioning programs. CARC promotes Canadian Sport for Life Long term Athlete Development at all levels. FIS program athletes will be developed in accordance with Alpine Canada’s Training to Compete philosophy. The development of sport specific technical, physical and tactical skills will be enhanced with integrated mental, cognitive and emotional development that help the athletes to compose their own alpine skiing style.

Athletes involved in the FIS program get the opportunity to train and compete not only in Canada, but in the US and Europe as well!
