Below you’ll find answers to common questions about Calgary Alpine. Once registered, families also receive a program-specific welcome package with equipment lists, training details and schedules.

Registration typically opens between June and July each year, with priority given to returning families. Once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation and link to complete the online registration process directly from the Program Directors.

To join the waitlist, please complete the online registration request form. Once submitted, we will add your child and notify you if a spot becomes available.

No. Lift tickets and passes are not included in program fees. Recommended pass options will be shared in your program welcome package.

Team jackets and apparel are not mandatory, but are encouraged as athletes progress and begin attending races. Branded gear is available before the season starts and gently used items can often be found at our September ski swap.

Yes. Calgary Alpine is a not-for-profit club and all families are required to participate in both fundraising and volunteer initiatives to help keep program fees accessible. Each program includes a deposit and minimum volunteer hours, along with one casino shift per family. Full details will be provided at registration. Refunds are only available on program fees and will be subject to an administrative fee. Hard costs—such as the Club Fee and Alberta Alpine Fees—are non-refundable. However, unused Race Account deposits are fully refundable.

Yes. For U12 athletes and younger, a parent or guardian must remain at the hill during training and race events. Parents are also responsible for their athlete before and after training and during breaks.

Training may be cancelled when daytime temperatures are expected to be very cold. The acceptable temperature range depends on the age of the children in the program. Families are notified by email or TeamSnap if changes occur and we always schedule an extra day or two in each program in case we need to cancel.

Groups ski from approx. 9am - 3pm with a 45min lunch break midday. Parents are responsible for their U12 athletes and younger during the lunch break.
