Going Even Faster

This program continues as an introductory step into competitive ski racing where 10 and 11 year old athletes are exposed to new and challenging experiences on their skis. This is for kids that love ski racing and are looking toward to the Learn to Race U14 program. The goal is develop children into confident and independent skiers and show them how to have fun in a competitive ski environment.

 The U12 Race program is a seasonal program that begins with dryland training in September. Dryland sessions are varied and work on improving physical awareness, motor development, cardiovascular capacity, strength and flexibility. All of these elements combine to build strong, healthy athletes who will be more efficient on snow.

This 65+ day program, begin on snow as soon as the mountains are open. It includes a 4 day Christmas Camp, involves technical free skiing, drill courses, a number of different race styles and of course, even more fun! There are 4 skiing days per week consisting of 2 nights at COP and weekends at Nakiska. These athletes participate in the U12 Provincial Race series. The minimum skiing ability requirement for this program is a Husky Snowstars Level 4. Please consider local area discount cards or possible all area passes for away races and occasional free ski days.
